Review summary
Based on recent reviews
Powered by AI
Lion Quays Resort is often praised for its canal-side setting and countryside views, with some superior rooms featuring balconies. Guests have enjoyed the spa facilities, including the swimming pool, sauna, steam room, and hydro pool, and found the treatments, like facials, to be excellent. Dining experiences also receive positive mentions, particularly the freshly prepared food served at dinner and the buffet-style breakfast; however, a few guests have noted that the gym had a hole in the ceiling. For some, the hotel provides exceptional value for money.

the location near the canal was agreeable.
The room cleanliness was not great. I spotted some mould in the bathroom. the wardrobe looked like it hadn't been cleaned in ages, definitely needing some tlc. the lack of usb charging ports seemed surprising for a modern hotel.

Acceptable Canal Side Hotel

The location by the canal was quite lovely. I enjoyed the associated leisure center. It was really handy for a swim in a big pool. My room was a nice big room with good lighting.
The check-in process gave a bad first impression. The room card did not work. I had to return to reception several times before I could access the room.
